For me, a plan that consistently looks 12 months ahead works best. I have made some big changes in my work over the past few years and this 12-month plan works to keep me on track and in the moment.
When I was in the athletic shoe business we had to be 12-24 months ahead. For many entrepreneurs things are changing so fast, 24 months is about as far as the eye can see.

There Are Four Pillars Of Success
- Motivation

Hence, the acronym MOVE. The intention is to get you moving in the direction of your desired outcome for your life. Seems like the place to start is with motivation because without it you never get to the other three pillars.
How Do You Get Motivated?
Here are some questions to get you dialed in and motivated as you begin your journey into the four pillars.
- What emotions do you want to connect with as you journey into the realm of motivation?
- What do I love doing? Why?
- What do I love being? Why?
- What excites me?
- How will my desired outcome impact me?
- How will my desired outcome affect those around me?
Change Has An Impact
When you change, grow, and transform it affects every aspect of your life. Clarity about this will accelerate growth and transformation. When you connect to your “what” to a desired emotional state and a compelling “why” you are unstopable! In the words of Tony, When was the last time you smiled, not because you felt like it, but just for the sake of smiling? You’d probably do it more often if you knew that smiling was making you happier. That’s right! If you made all the facial expressions you make when you’re excited, elated and thrilled, even when you don’t actually feel those emotions, the truth is that you’d see an immediate improvement in your mood. Why does this matter? Because your mood is everything, especially when it comes to accomplishing your goals. In fact, take a moment to smile right now. Why does something as simple as a grin have so much power to dictate what motivates you? How do you feel, physically and emotionally, when you allow yourself to smile?
Your mind interprets the events we experience within the framework you set for yourself, meaning that whether an experience is positive or negative is largely determined by our mood and state of mind. Think about it: the emotion and meaning our minds attach to events ultimately counts more than the experiences themselves, since they condition our willingness to experience and pursue them.

What Do You believe Is A Simple But HUGE Question
When you address things to question, do it with no filters, I believe… complete the sentence
This exercise was suggested by my coach who is a brilliant executive coach and strategist.
I started it, thinking that is was kind of silly. But the more I asked myself this question, the deeper I got into clearing out things I didn’t realize I believe and then supporting the things I want to believe.
I did it every day for 21 days. WOW!
What you believe influences the way you think and feel. This is turn influences the way you act and react to situations.
What Do You Believe?
Try this exercise for a week and see what happens. Write down the first thing that comes to your mind. If you get stuck, wait and listen, the next thing will come for sure.
I do thins exercise in my M.O.V.E. program and the results are amazing. It allows us to go very deep into the problem-solving aspects that will increase productivity, inspiration, and motivation.
Knowing in a deep way will help you break through difficulties and find solutions to your most difficult situations.

Let Go Of The Load
If your hands are filled with shit, how can you pick up the gold? Here is a tip, let go of the load!
This seems like a very simple question. But, it is amazing to me how many people live their lives allowing pain, victim-ness, blame, and shame to prevent them from moving forward. This also prevents them from success or seeing the greatness they are. It is more common than you might know for people who are amazing to let themselves get tricked into thinking they are no good.
The Tricky Sh*t Of The Subconscious
The reason is quite simple; most of the shit that you carry is in your subconscious mind. It has been programmed into you since birth. Sometimes it can become so much a part of your psyche that you don’t even know that it’s there. I would say that 80% of the clients that I have worked with in my 25+-year career have been in some way seriously abused. Many have been sexually molested, others have been brutally psychologically wounded, many physically assaulted and 100% of them are unaware of the impact this has had on their life. The beautiful thing about discovering this awareness is that you can do something about it. Bringing the awareness of this shit into your conscious mind is not about becoming a victim. Also, it is not about having an excuse to hate your parents or blame your siblings for your current condition.
It is about owning what you have been carrying, doing something to get rid of it and then giving yourself permission to realize your greatness.

There Is Power In Taking Inventory Of Your Own Shit
As you go through these categories look at which of these are working in your life. Give yourself credit for the things that you are on task about. It is important to give yourself a reward for accomplishment and effort given regardless of the outcome. In an achievement-oriented society, you often forget to give yourself credit for trying. Things don’t always work out the way you plan.
If you have done everything that you know to do to create your desired outcome and you don’t get it, you still get a pat on the back. Now, do the same exercise with the things in your life that are not working. I like to start with a positive but this is the real work for this chapter. After you go through this process, I have a powerful exercise to bring a solution to the things that are not working in your life. It is a way to own and then turn around these things so they become fuel for you to succeed. Let’s do it!
Recognizing Failure As Your Own Shit
What are the things that you just can’t seem to get right no matter how hard you try? What are the persistent issues that seem to follow you no matter what? Believe it or not, this part of the exercise can be more valuable than the first part.
The part of our life that is not working can be your greatest teacher. You might take each of the categories listed above, add or subtract categories based on your lifestyle and goals. Write down for each category, what you would like it to be, what it actually is, and then write a short bit about what bridge can be built from where you are to where you want to be. This is really powerful because it is acknowledging the tools that you will need to move your life forward in a direction that is in alignment with your core values and desired outcomes.
It Is Simple But Not Easy To Deal With Your Own Shit
Take as much time as you need. Sometimes this exercise can take days or even weeks. It can take time for the solution to come to you. Think about building a bridge across the Grand Canyon…Suggestions for this exercise: Break down each life situation in each category into small understandable pieces of information. The bridge across the Grand Canyon didn’t just get dropped into place in its full form. It was built piece by piece, step by step until it is complete. Step-by-step you will find a way to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
